President's Message - Winter 2010

I am excited to be kicking off the decade by moving into our new building. Thanks to the efforts of many staff members and partners, the JPA has purchased a commercial building which should not only accommodate space needs for us and our sister JPA, but also provide a significant revenue stream. Thanks to staff, partners, and the Board of Directors for making this happen. And, as always thanks also to the many school and community college districts who provide not only the personnel to take on the issues of the JPA, but for allowing the time commitment it takes to do this important work on behalf of the entire JPA.

Please take time to browse through on our website (www.scsjpa.org). It provides invaluable information about the JPA for both current and prospective members. See what the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee have been working on by checking out the calendar and the meeting agendas. Check out the programs and services offered and the resources that are available with a single "click." Check out the safety chats put together by our own "Safety Bill." Finally, call the staff to pose the questions that you need to be able to answer in your own districts. Most importantly, use the website. It is designed to help you and to help others.
